IN THE AFTERNOON
At 4pm will be the Round Robin Clinic that is strongly recommended if you will be representing the dairy department the following day in Round robin. It is open to anyone wanting to learn about showing other species. Some of you will be asked to demonstrate the showing of dairy animals.
Dairy Herdsmanship Award - sponsored by the Fetzer family in honor of Shari's brother, William Carter. The dairy department has the reputation of having the cleanest animals and stalls at the fair! Lets keep it that way (even if it is another specie that dropped the messes) Keeping a positive attitude will also be part of the scoring.
Doing Good Award Coupons - handed out throughout the fair. These are awarded by different people that if they see you doing a good deed in any area, you may be awarded a coupon for a treat at the 4-H Dairy Bar!
Mike Dickenson Memorial Dairy Award - In memory of Mike Dickinson, everyone automatically qualifies and can have a chance to win this very BIG award! Points awarded as follows: Sportsmanship (most points); Herdsmanship; Showmanship; Participation in Dairy Demonstrations; Participation in Poster Contest; there may be extra points for extra events such as participation in Costume Class and parade around the barns and helping with the baby calves.
Everyone has same chance whether they have one calf or more no matter how they place. It is based off activities participated in with the judging contest as tiebreaker.
